We arrived around 3am this morning and so far we are tired but have adjusted well.
Someone please remind me Qantas connections don't leave much time and it's no fun running through duty free to catch your connection and no time for shopping.
Day 1
Well first surprise was how good was the Taxi's we had today - Nice and clean and airconditioned and one thing for sure is the Melbourne taxi drivers have got nothing on these guys. Funniest part about travelling around is vehicles have signs on the back that say "HORN OK" so funny.
We travelled out to the clinic to visit our Dr today and this was a huge cultural experience for us both. Who ever commented that going to India for your first trip overseas is an initiation of fire is absolutely correct!!!
We both felt completely out of control and helpless this morning but this has improved as the day has gone on.
One thing for sure is when you drive past the slums and see the families and children its a sobering reminder of the amazing life we live at home.
Hotel is really good and the staff are very attentive, big supermarket next door (really cheap) and shopping centre across the road. Mick brought a watch today for around $7 Aust after bargining him down from $15. The indian outfits and jewellery is superb and I will definately be purchasing some goodies to bring home.
On the baby front no news to tell yet. We go visit the obstetrician at the hospital tomorrow and will discuss further details around the delivery.
Will update with photos etc as we get some. Today was just about taking it all in.
